Aaliyah Babygirl Art Community Closes.

It is with deep regret that i annonce to you all the closure of this community.
Started as a dream, a will to express, spread and share Aaliyah love and memory throughout the online Aaliyah community, and enlighten those who know not of her, the Aaliyah Babygirl Art Community started its journey here at DeviantArt in 2004. We have grown so far from our first small features and gallery, boast amazing pieces of art dedicated to Aaliyah the fallen angel, but unfortunately i can no longer maintain this collective of artists and fans.
I realise this is a common thing to happen to communities such as this one, often one sees on the internet, sites closing and messages marking such words as 'i no longer have the time/will/money/...' but i cannot say as much for myself in this case. I will not wander forth into the details, as they enrich not the story of our special Aaliyah haven, nor this message in which to you all i am presenting my goodbye. I can however ensure you all that my love for Aaliyah and respect for her family is ever burning, and will continue to do so as the years roll on.
I am sorry, to the artists who have made this community what it is, to close it. I am sorry to the memory of Aaliyah Haughton and to her family, for having started something so trully pure and innocent, to end closing it upon the eve of its crest (i believe we had good things to come). However, i urge you all to keep her memory burning further, to continue your amazing work as artists whether it be your profession or your hobby, everyone is great and no real art is measured by the 'technical prowess' or 'correctness' of a piece, only by the love and intention of the artist for the subject.

Is in no way affiliated with this community, and anything you may see at that website is the responsibility of the owner, please contact them in an appropriate manner about content there. I will not reply to notes any more, so noting me about that website is useless.

Introducing the AA group. This section is being created because ive been in contact with some people that would like to join the community but have no aaliyah artwork in their gallery. However, i think it's a shame to stunt the growth of the community by ruling that all members have a deviation in their gallery representin Aaliyah so members will now be divided into AA's and Members. Members will include all community members who have Aaliyah based/themed artwork in their gallery, and AA will be for those members who quite simply, admire, Aaliyah.

Happy 27th Birthday Aaliyah
Today, January 16th, Aaliyah would have been celebrating her 27th year on earth, with her closest family and friends if it had not been for the fatal tragedy. Today is a day for remembrance, observation of the world we are so blessed to live in, and above all love for ourselves and for our fellow human beings.
As waves caress the rocks and sand in the bay, in an attempt to pardon themselves for their earlier fury, as trees sway in twilight breeze and birds sing their evening song to the concrete mass that is the city, and as the stars shine with remembrance for the past, and hope for the future, what sets human beings apart is our ability to share. Sharing these beautiful things we are surrounded by everyday and yet that we so often ignore or miss, is the key to peace, sharing knowledge and compassion is the key to humanity. If there is one day on which to share a particle of your knowledge, your problems, your pain, your passion, your souvenirs, make it today.
