It is with deep regret that i annonce to you all the closure of this community.
Started as a dream, a will to express, spread and share Aaliyah love and memory throughout the online Aaliyah community, and enlighten those who know not of her, the Aaliyah Babygirl Art Community started its journey here at DeviantArt in 2004. We have grown so far from our first small features and gallery, boast amazing pieces of art dedicated to Aaliyah the fallen angel, but unfortunately i can no longer maintain this collective of artists and fans.
I realise this is a common thing to happen to communities such as this one, often one sees on the internet, sites closing and messages marking such words as 'i no longer have the time/will/money/...' but i cannot say as much for myself in this case. I will not wander forth into the details, as they enrich not the story of our special Aaliyah haven, nor this message in which to you all i am presenting my goodbye. I can however ensure you all that my love for Aaliyah and respect for her family is ever burning, and will continue to do so as the years roll on.
I am sorry, to the artists who have made this community what it is, to close it. I am sorry to the memory of Aaliyah Haughton and to her family, for having started something so trully pure and innocent, to end closing it upon the eve of its crest (i believe we had good things to come). However, i urge you all to keep her memory burning further, to continue your amazing work as artists whether it be your profession or your hobby, everyone is great and no real art is measured by the 'technical prowess' or 'correctness' of a piece, only by the love and intention of the artist for the subject.
